Handling it like a queen! Nicki Minaj gave attendees of the 2018 Made in America Festival, held over the weekend in Philadelphia, a little more than they bargained for.
While performing onstage, Minaj's dress slipped at the top, exposing the top part of her chest. Unfortunately for the "Anaconda" singer, the pasties she was wearing were see-through.
Minaj tackled the wardrobe malfunction like a champ, quickly sliding her dress back into place once she realized what had happened. The adjustment was made after several fans had already captured the surprising moment on video.
Never one to back down from controversy, Minaj addressed the incident during her set, telling the crowd, "You know what? They all saw my nipples 50 times tonight."
She further elaborated on the wardrobe malfunction the next day, responding to a fan on Twitter who had seen the debacle firsthand. While the fan said they "don't have a problem with" what happened, Minaj was a bit more frustrated, writing, "They put on see thru pasties on me while heading to stage. I just KNEW they were my normal (non see through ones) chile...ummmm they were not!"
This isn't the first time the rapper has suffered a wardrobe malfunction. Her outfit has dipped precariously low during several television appearances, including "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", "Good Morning America", and "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen."
While speaking with Andy Cohen, the 35-year-old "Barbie Tingz" singer addressed her prior outfit mishaps. She explained that, although the breast-baring incidents were the toughest for her to handle, the show must go on. Minaj refuses to let down her fellow artists or fans by backing out of or stopping a performance just because she happens to show a bit too much skin.
That certainly seemed to be the case this past weekend as she flawlessly continued on with her set despite the unfortunate exposure. In addition to Minaj, Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Zedd, Alessia Cara, Pusha T, and many others performed during the two-day music festival.
Minaj is scheduled to start her NickiHndrxx Tour on February 21, 2019 in Germany with the North American portion of the tour slated to begin in May 2019. The North American tour was supposed to be co-headlined by "Mask Off" rapper, Future, but due to scheduling conflicts that may change.
