Jordin Sparks Attends a Movie Premiere Less Than 72 Hours After Giving Birth

It's official- Jordin Sparks is superhuman. The singer attended the premiere for her new movie "Show Dogs" on Saturday, May 5, but it's what she did three days earlier that had everyone talking. 

The "American Idol" alum gave birth to her first child, a baby boy with husband Dana Isaiah, on Wednesday, May 2 at 9:04 p.m. PST. Less than 72 hours before she was walking the red carpet, Sparks was welcoming her 8 lb. 4.5 oz. bundle of joy at the Natural Birth Center & Women's Wellness in Los Angeles. 

Perhaps even more miraculous, despite having an all-natural water birth and a complication due to the umbilical cord being wrapped around the baby's head twice, Sparks left the birthing center a mere four hours after giving birth. Her husband, along with her midwife, Simona, caught the baby and helped unwind the umbilical cord from his neck before handing him to the proud new mom. 

A rep for the 28-year-old star confirmed prior to the movie premiere that the happy couple had welcomed their son, Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr., into the world. The pair later shared adorable photos of the baby boy, who they have nicknamed DJ, to their respective social media accounts. 

As for how Sparks is looking just a few short days after giving birth? The adjectives wow, amazing, and incredible come to mind. The new mom looked slender in a floral print Saloni dress, accessorized with strappy Schutz heels and dazzling Melinda Maria jewels. The long-sleeved, flowing mini dress with a plunging v-neckline showed off her trim waist. The fact that just had a baby seems nearly impossible. 

Sparks gushed over her new son as she walked the red carpet at Hollywood's TCL Chinese Theater, raving that he is "everything" she and her husband had imagined. The new mom also joked that she was looking forward to many things in the coming years, including "joy, laughter, scrapes, and bruises." 

If he's anything like his warrior mom, he'll shake those scrapes and bruises off like a champ. Sparks capped off her exciting week by sharing a snap of the sweet newborn to Instagram with the caption, "He's here and we couldn't be more in love!!! Go DJ!". Now hopefully DJ's supermom can get some rest before her movie, with co-stars Will Arnett and Natasha Lyonne, premieres in theaters on May 18.
